Setting up my own publication platform is something of a longstanding ambition of mine. Not being dependent on the whim and business models of others has its certain appeal, and being your own boss does give you absolute control over your work.
Its a good thing.
Given that I dabble in several different mediums, I appreciate the ability to release in all of them, without the restrictions or demands that a "music label," or "publishing house," or "movie studio." If I want to write, I write, if I want to make music, I make music, and if I feel particularly extroverted, I might pick up a camera and walk the runway or something.
At this time, Aesmethema is an open slate, a blank page that will take shape as it develops. This is really a bullhorn for my own ego, but there may well be others who will be released or published through this soapbox. I make no guarantee as to the lifespan of this misshapen baby of mine; in the electronic age, things come and go, rise and fall, pretty much the click of a button. But I intend to ride this gangly calf to the end, and enjoy the ride as it happens.
